I believe God is emphasizing right now that he is giving us his right hand.
Scripture refers to God’s right hand as upholding his people.
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
Isaiah 41:10 (NKJV)
Your right hand has held me up.
Psalm 18:35 (NKJV)
God’s right hand in Scripture also speaks of…
- God’s power at work on behalf of his people (Exodus 15:6; Deuteronomy 33:2; Psalm 20:6, 44:3-4, 78:4, 98:1, 118:15);
- his mercy (Psalm 60:5), justice (Psalm 21:8; 48:10; 74:11), salvation and rescue (Psalm 80:15, 108:6);
- loving connection between God and his family (Psalm 16:11, 63:8; 73:23).
Let us be encouraged by the truth that God is holding us up with his right hand.
And let us keep our eyes on him and our hearts open to him.
