July 2023 – Why is Communion Jesus’ Body and Blood?

Why did Jesus say for us to eat his body and drink his blood?

Recently, I was taking communion—a precious, sacred meal that I feel like I am only beginning to comprehend the power of—when I asked Jesus, “Why did you say for us to eat your body and blood?

His immediate response in my spirit was that we take communion—eating Christ’s sacrificed body—the same way the Levite priests used to eat of the sacrifices that had been made.

The meaning and significance of that response continued to unfold and deepen as I considered the Scriptures it referenced, and journaled with God.

I’d like to share with you those Meditations on Communion.

One More Thing: Thank You!

Here’s a snapshot of me at work on the new standalone Christian fiction book during last month’s writing retreat.

It encourages me as I’m writing the new book to see how God is working through the books already published.

A very special thank you for ordering books, posting your reviews of my books on Amazon and Goodreads, and for recommending the books (on social media, to friends, and in online reader groups and on reader websites).

I’m grateful for every member of this email community, and for every reader of my books. Thank you for being here!
