Freedom Invites for You

Through a recent dream, God highlighted several areas in which he is holding out invitations to his people.

Below are some of God’s strategies—right from Scripture—to keep his people free!

Invitations to Freedom

Freedom through Gratitude

  • Therefore, as you have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, having been firmly rooted and now being built up in Him and established in your faith, just as you were instructed, and overflowing with gratitude. (Colossians 2:6-7 NASB)
  • Since we are receiving a Kingdom that is unshakable, let us be thankful and please God by worshiping him with holy fear and awe. (Hebrews 12:28 NASB)
  • Let the word of Christ richly dwell within you… singing with thankfulness in your hearts to God. Whatever you do in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through him to God the Father. (Colossians 3:16-17 NASB)

Freedom through Humility

  • Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility consider one another as more important than yourselves. Do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others. (Philippians 2:3-4 NASB)
  • Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus…. He humbled Himself by becoming obedient…. (Philippians 2:5,8 NASB)
  • So, as those who have been chosen of God, holy and beloved, put on a heart of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience; bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, whoever has a complaint against anyone; just as the Lord forgave you, so must you do also. (Colossians 3:12-13 NASB)

Freedom through Respecting and Honoring Others

  • Be devoted to one another in brotherly love; give preference to one another in honor. (Romans 12:10 NASB)
  • Pay to all what is due to them: … respect to whom respect, honor to whom honor. (Romans 13:17 NASB)
  • Honor all people…. (1 Peter 2:17 NASB)
  • Honor your father and mother (which is the first commandment with a promise), so that it may turn out well for you, and that you may live long on the earth. (Ephesians 6:1-3 NASB)

Freedom through Caring About God’s Heart

  • “You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind….” (Luke 10:27 NASB)
  • God loves a cheerful giver. (2 Corinthians 9:7 NASB)
  • Therefore, be imitators of God, as beloved children; and walk in love, just as Christ also loved you and gave Himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God as a fragrant aroma. (Ephesians 5:1-2 NASB)
  • For it is God who is at work in you, both to desire and to work for his good pleasure. (Philippians 2:13 NASB)
  • May the Lord direct your hearts to the love of God… (2 Thessalonians 3:5 NASB)
  • For God is not unjust so as to forget your work and the love which you have shown toward His name, by having served and by still serving the saints. (Hebrews 6:10 NASB)
  • [Your adornment] should be… with the imperishable quality of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is precious in the sight of God. (1 Peter 3:4 NASB)
  • Beloved, let’s love one another; for love is from God, and everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. (1 John 4:7 NASB)
