For the past several months, I believe God has been saying that there is Fresh Oil ahead. And more than just saying it, I believe he has already been pouring it out.
What is this spiritual fresh oil for?
Here are 2 of the things I believe God is saying about it:
1. The fresh oil is to see what the Father is doing and do it.
Jesus said he only did what he saw the Father doing.
So Jesus explained, “I tell you the truth, the Son can do nothing by himself. He does only what sees the Father doing. Whatever the Father does, the Son also does.” – John 5:19 (NLT)
Consider that Jesus said his food was to do the will of the Father. (John 4:34)
And that Jesus also said this:
“Anyone who believes in me will do the same works I have done, and even greater works, because I am going to be with the Father.” – John 14:12 (NLT)
2. The fresh oil is for each of us to hear what the Father is saying (to each of us individually) and say only that.
Jesus said he only spoke what the Father gave him to say.
“I don’t speak on my own authority. The Father who sent me has commanded me what to say and how to say it. And I know his commands lead to eternal life; so I say whatever the Father tells me to say.” – John 12:49-50 (NLT)
Consider that Jesus’ words are life. (John 6:63)
Prayer
Thank you, God, for fresh oil from you. May it be to me according to your word.
May your kingdom come and your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. May your will be done in me and through me.
