How Does God See You?

Ready to see yourself as God sees you? Ready to be who God made you to be?

Who did God say was like a sea monster?

God told Ezekiel that the Pharaoh of Egypt compared himself to a young lion.

But God said that image was wrong.

God said the Pharaoh was actually like a sea monster—muddying the waters with his feet, and fouling the rivers. (See Ezekiel 29:3-7; 32:1-2.)

It might seem pretty easy to discern that a mortal who claimed that he had created the Nile (see Ezekiel 29:3, 9, 19) wasn’t seeing things as God sees them.

But consider Moses, who didn’t see what God saw, either.

Moses was a humble man (Numbers 12:3). But his view of himself wasn’t right, either.

God saw Moses as a speaker. (See Exodus 6:11, 29.)

But Moses did not see himself as God saw him. (See Exodus 4:10; 6:30.)

Even after God explained, Moses refused to see himself God’s way. And God was angry about that. (See Exodus 4:10-17.)

Wow. So even a humble individual who is trying to follow God can be in need of God’s perspective. And God feels strongly about this!

How does God see you?

Ready to see yourself as God sees you?
Ready to be who God made you to be?

God,

Show me how you see me.

Help me see myself as you see me.

Help me be who you made me to be.
