How You Can Get Wisdom from Heaven

A queen with everything on earth got more than she expected when she encountered God’s wisdom from heaven.

And you can have it, too.

Breathless?

When was the last time the wisdom of God spoken through me left someone breathless? When was the last time I spoke words filled with God’s wisdom beyond what the hearer expected?

When the Queen of Sheba had a conversation with King Solomon—who had received God’s gift of wisdom—he gave her God’s answers to her questions and God’s explanations for everything that was in her heart.

The experience made her “breathless”! (See 1 Kings 10:5.)

This Was No Party Trick

I don’t know what the queen’s questions were, or what things in her heart she longed to have explained. But a woman with the world’s resources at her disposal needed something more. And, through God’s gift of wisdom, she received it through the words of another human being.

Wisdom brought heaven near to her heart, and exceeded her expectations. (See 1 Kings 10:7.)

No wonder Proverbs urges its reader to “get wisdom.” (See Proverbs 4:5, 7.)

Prayer: God, please give me your wisdom.

A Blessing for You

May we be people whose words are filled with the wisdom of God, beyond expectation.

May God’s wisdom in us and through us bring heaven near to us and to those around us.
