The God Who Sees You

There is something healing about being seen by God.

When others overlook you, God sees you:
“Then he [Jesus] turned to the woman and said to Simon, ‘Do you see this woman?'” (Luke 7:44 NIV).

When you feel isolated, God sees you:
“Hagar thought, ‘Have I really seen God and lived to tell about it?’ So from then on she called him, ‘The God Who Sees Me’ (Genesis 16:13 CEV).

When it seems like nothing has gone right for a long, long time, and you don’t feel like a real person anymore, God sees you:
“When the woman realized that she could not stay hidden, she began to tremble and fell to her knees in front of him. The whole crowd heard her explain why she had touched him and that she had been immediately healed. ‘Daughter,’ he said to her, ‘your faith has made you well. Go in peace'” (Luke 8:47-48 NLT).

May we make our hearts fully committed to him, so that we are not only seen, but strengthened, by the God who loves us:
For the eyes of the LORD move to and fro throughout the earth that He may strongly support those whose heart is completely His (2 Chronicles 16:9 NASB).

God, please see me to forgive me, as you did the first woman. Please see me to guide me with your wisdom and truth, as you did the second woman. And please see me to heal me, as you did the third woman. Help me make my heart completely yours, so that every time you look at me, you strengthen me.

“Keep me as the apple of your eye; hide me in the shadow of your wings…” (Psalm 17:8 ESV).
