And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is (Ephesians 3:18 NLT).
Do I understand? Not yet. The apostle Paul prayed for the Ephesians to understand. But not just that, he prayed for them to have the power to understand the expanse and extent of God’s love.
In the middle of hard days, years into chronic illness and chronic pain, is it hard to understand that God really loves you? When problems and pain seem louder than love, is the width, length, height, and depth of God’s love a foreign concept?
Ephesians 3:18 says all God’s people should understand the magnitude of God’s love. We, as God’s people, are included in all. Even though Ephesians 3:19 says God’s love is “too deep to understand fully,” I want the power to understand his love as I should. Do you?
God, give us the power to understand, as we should, the vast enormity of your love.
