No more just saying what I see. It’s time to break the string and say a new thing.
A toy I had when I was a kid told me what the cow said. Every time I pulled the string.
And it was always the same. I pointed the arrow at the cow, pulled the string, and heard, “The cow says, ‘Moo.’”
The toy was called See ‘n Say.
I’m a grownup now.
And it’s a new era.
No more just saying what I see.
It’s time to break the string and say a new thing.
I’m learning to say and pray what God says. Especially when it doesn’t match what I see. That’s where truth is needed most.
Scripture says we walk by faith and not by sight (2 Corinthians 5:7). And to walk by faith, it matters what I say.
What I say has the power to change things: With the fruit of a person’s mouth his stomach will be satisfied; He will be satisfied with the product of his lips. Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit. – Proverbs 18:21 (NASB)
A Prayer You Can Pray
God,
Awaken my ear each day to listen to you, as your disciple.
Align my tongue with your teaching.
